- No more helicopters
- No more sirens
- No more yelling from the street
- No more bikers/ricers revving their engines at the stoplight
- No more of that guy that sits in the parking lot next door leaning on his horn so that someone will come move whatever car is blocking him
- No more cockroaches
- No more rats
- No more o’possums
- No more trash to clean up from the driveway
- No more fliers to collect from the fence
- No more fence, period.
- The windows all seal shut so the warm/cool air stays in
- The doors don’t have holes drilled into them from crazy drug addicts trying to break into the house
- The ceiling isn’t falling down on my head
- There’s no need for an air conditioner when you live less than a mile from the bay
- The shower tile isn’t collapsing in on you
- The bathtub is not in the floor
- The toilet is not on a platform
- There is a medicine cabinet
- There are heat lamps in the bathroom to keep you warm
- There is a goodly amount of water coming out of the shower head
- You don’t have to look at yourself in a mirror while you’re peeing
- The light switches all work
- The light switches are where they should be
- There is a light fixture in every room (sometimes two!)
- The kitchen cabinets are clean and pretty to look at
- So is the sink
- So is the floor
- The fridge was made in the past 20 years
- There is a dishwasher
- And a built-in wine rack
- And a serving counter that keep the place feeling spacious
- The trash can goes on a little platform that slides out from behind a little cabinet door
- The view out the window above the kitchen sink doesn’t have any brick walls, chain link fence, or “NO PARKING” signs
More to come as time goes by, I’m sure…

#22 is my favorite! How does Pixel like his new digs?
After the first night sleeping here he seemed to realize this was home. I’ve been able to go out for three or four 10-minute errands and have come home to no barking. I think the neighbor I share a wall with works graveyard so I’m hesitant to test Pixel much during the day. Maybe I’ll try going out to for dinner for an hour or so soon.
#13 is my favorite because I know you are safe now.
Hooray new apartment!
Just remembered…
#35: No more semis driving down the street in the middle of the night
#36: No more propositions from creepy guys in vans when you’re outside after dark
Thanks, ‘manda
Ahhh… life and it’s juxtapositions. You can take the girl out of Hollywood but can you take the Hollywood out of the girl?
No, I’m simply too fabulous.
