On Saturday I came down to Pasadena to catch Kevin before he went back to Seattle. Had good sushi with him and fun listening to his stories from traveling in Japan. Then lots of hospital time interspersed with visits to Corey, April, the Dads.

Cathy came home last night and she’s damn happy to be here. I’m going to stay another day and head home on Friday—Pixel needs to get his bone graft looked at by the vet. Then off to San Jose for Memorial Day weekend, woohoo! I’m looking forward to the fun but may be looking forward to sleeping in my own bed next week even more

Yes, it’s Monday and finals week. I have survived today only slightly-scathed … there’s a bit more scathing to do Tuesday and Thursday and then I’ll be done! My cap and gown are hanging by the front door and need just a little steaming before I can graduate with a couple AA degrees.

I’m going to be sad to leave Cuesta College. It’s been such a nice place to grow in. One of my English professors asked me today if I’d be back in the Fall. I said I was going to Cal State LA to finish my bachelor’s and then I’d get my master’s and then maybe I’d be a colleague of his next time he saw me

I turned 30 last month. About time! Although I’ve made half-hearted attempts at resurrecting this blog over the years nothing has stuck. Maybe now that I’ve started a new decade it will?

Besides, I’ve decided to major in English. Based on my experience with these recent literature classes, I’m going to be coming across some great pieces of text. And I’m going to need more practice with communicating effectively via text.
